Say Yes Build A New USS Atlanta With Your War Bonds And Stamps
The only one known to exist! By the Conger Printing Co. of Atlanta, this poster encourages those on the homefront to purchase more war bonds and stamps to help build a new U.S.S Atlanta. The original Atlanta was launched on December 24th 1941. The USS Atlanta fought in the battle of Midway, Battle of the Solomon Islands and Guadalcanal where it was heavily damaged by a japanese torpedo and sunk. The new ship was completed in 1944 and officially known as CL-104. This poster is from that drive, and is the only known example from it. Amazing history.
