Exposed Positions Invite Attention Camouflage
We are excited about this one, and so were the men of the 602nd Engineer Command Support Battalion
that this poster was produced for. It was also used by the 654th Engineers of the First US Army. Printed in 1944 and one in a series of scantily clad women promoting camouflage, this was used as a poster, but also as a leaflet for the men fighting in the Battle Of the Bulge. It was amorale booster but also used as a reminder to stay camouflaged in enemy territory. Scarce.
Measures about 7x1.5”, in the frame about 13x16”
Condition- excellent, someone has written “luxembourg 1944 Dec” at bottom center and “beach days” near top right. Likely where the man who kept it was station and obtained this poster during the Battle Of The Buldge. We assume “beach days” may have been written in as thoughts of better times with the women featured once the hell of war was over. Slight creasing line.
