This poster follows the “it can happen here” theme as many posters of the time did, and then asks for donations form the public to help prevent it, in this case through making sure the city had enough ambulances. Herbert S. Kates (1894-1947) American Impressionist was the artist behind this poster. He was a member of the New Rochelle Artists Association and the Society of Illustrators. He was also a known etcher, illustrator, and writer as well. This artwork is also signed by Jerome S. Kates who was an author and Herbert’s brother.

Measures 20x30”
