One of the rarest of all Navy Recruitment posters from WWI. Produced by the Artcraft Litho Company of Detroit. Featuring a battle hardened sailor from Revolutionary War times holding a sword with a flintlock pistol in his sash, telling young men to join up for countries most recent conflict, WWI. Signed by Cozzy + EN Coleman. We believe EN Coleman is actually D.J.D. Coleman, a recruitment officer in Michigan, and 'Cozzy' is believed to be Julius Gotsdanker, a member of the Navy who contributed patriotic cartoons to the Detroit Press.

Measures 15.75x21.75”

Condition- excellent, one small 1” piece of cellophane tape repairing a small 1/4” tear at bottom.
