Original WWII Artwork Charles X Carlson War Department
Original WWII art from Bureau of War Department Artist Charles X Carlson (creator of the famous Bordens Cow “Elsie”). Uncle Sam’s got an axe to grind to the despair of the axis goons watching over. Also features a Thanksgiving turkey with the words “victory” over it. Created in 1943 and hand signed twice (one in pencil and the other in paint). Stamped “War Times” on verso, likely a publication produced for the Pentagon as the stamp suggests. Also on verso and with no objection to publication by the War Department.
Measures 11.25x14.25”
Condition- very good, dinged corner and light staining.
