Scarce VD WWII poster which was actually used to warn servicemen of the shady ladies hanging around bars and bases in Germany. This poster comes with a distinct stamp which reads “US Civil Censorship- *Germany* PASSED”. Executive Order 8985, signed by Roosevelt on December 19, authorized creation of the Office of Censorship. From this day on every letter that crossed international or U.S. territorial borders from December 1941 to August 1945 was subject to being opened and scoured for details. This poster was also checked and passed inspection, hence the stamp. Great history in even the smallest of details.
